Questions regarding this carpet?

Village / nomad rug

This rug belongs to village and nomadic rugs from Iran, formerly Persia. This type of rug is knotted by hand in smaller towns and villages in old tradition. Even nomads still knot Persian rugs in the open air. The rugs are knotted without a draft and completely from the mind. They are characterized by classical ornaments, which are arranged in straight and geometrical patterns. Thanks to their cultural-traditional origin, these rugs have a unique character that embodies ancient Persia.

Patina rug

This rug is a real patina Persian rug. Patina Persian carpets are evidence of high-quality handwork and the finest natural materials, such as pure sheep's wool and silk. Such a carpet has undergone a natural aging process of usually at least 30, and often up to over 50 years. Through careful restoration it has been restored to the highest new quality. The natural colors and hand-tied knots were not changed, but were simply tested for durability and long-term durability. Different heights in the pile were compensated for during the manual restoration. This makes the surface so beautifully smooth again. The wool was also washed, greased and re-polished to give the used Persian carpet a beautiful new shine. This creates an affordable but at the same time extremely high-quality carpet that will give you years of enjoyment with its patina. Such a carpet with a unique character and a unique history will continue to be admired for years to come.

Natural wool

Wool is a natural material that brings important positive properties to everyday life. It is extremely hard-wearing and can easily withstand daily stress. With proper care, it can also live for many decades without showing signs of aging. Natural wool is also dirt-repellent with its own fat content, which protects it from dirt and moisture. Wool is suited for underfloor heating systems. It regulates to a certain degree the humidity in the room and insulates sound and heat.

Knotted by hand

Traditionally hand-knotted rugs still form the highest quality standard among all types of rugs. Depending on the type of knot, the rugs are extremely robust and can last for generations. The finer and tighter a rug is knotted, the more detailed ornaments and patterns can be depicted on the pile. At the same time, a very fine oriental rug requires a much higher manual effort as well as a higher level of experience and skill of the knotter. Thus the knot density also serves as a decisive value factor of hand-knotted rugs. The quality is not directly related to the knot density. A rather coarse rug may well have been made in excellent quality.
