This handmade designer rug deliberately picks up on subtle shades of a particular colour spectrum. The result is a calm yet modern design. Natural wool has been used together with viscose to create a beautiful lustre. This makes the colour spectrum look downright breathtaking in reality.


Designer Rug

Modern designer rugs combine the traditional hand-knotting technique with contemporary design. The design still draws on the typical ornaments of the Orient, but these are presented in a simpler, more pared-back way. The result is hand-knotted rugs of outstanding quality in a timeless modern style.

Hand-spun wool

This rug is made from hand-spun sheep’s wool of the highest quality. Wool is still spun by hand, especially in Iran (formerly Persia), Afghanistan and Pakistan, before the actual knotting of the rug begins. Over the centuries, wool has proven itself to be a natural and extremely hard-wearing material. Among other things, it has dirt-repellent and heat-insulating properties. At the same time, wool is incomparably soft and has a natural sheen.

Loom knotted

Loom rugs are made on looms, on which a pile is made from loops. Instead of knots (see hand-knotted rugs), loops are woven, which later form the carpet pile. Compared to traditional hand knotting, loom carpets can be made with much less effort and are therefore more affordable. Because of their weave, these rugs are also limited to geometric or plain patterns.
