This handwoven Kilim Fars combines Persian patterns with the old tradition of flat fabrics. It represents a beautiful composition of contemporary Persian elements and a modern style. Due to the carpet's geometric patterns and its warm colours, this type of rug is extremely popular in modern interior magazines. Additionally, this Kilim can be used in many different ways. Whether you would like to use it as a bed cover or as a carpet in front of your sofa – a Kilim Fars fulfils nearly all wishes.

Kilim

These Kilim rugs have one key difference compared with hand-knotted rugs - they are hand-woven. As a result, they do not have a raised wool pile and are often flatter and rougher than knotted wool rugs. Their construction is less intricate, which means they are generally much more affordable. Another advantage is that Kilim rugs are much lighter and can be used on both sides. Hand-woven Kilims originally come from former Persia and are now also widely made in Afghanistan. They tend to feature simple, linear patterns shaped by their weaving technique.

Pure Silk

Pure silk is among the most luxurious natural materials. Its combination of fineness and durability is unmatched among textile fibres. Even today, silk is a symbol of true luxury. The silkworm moth’s caterpillar produces silk when spinning its cocoon. This natural silk is then carefully harvested by hand and woven into fibres. Silk has a distinctive sheen that stands out from afar. It changes beautifully depending on the light, revealing stunning facets. At the same time, pure silk is exceptionally soft, crease-resistant and heat-insulating.

Handwoven

This rug has been handwoven on a loom as a flatweave. Flatweave refers to rugs that have no pile. As the name suggests, these rugs are woven rather than knotted. This results in a flat rug with a textured surface. Flatweaves are not as soft and are usually thinner than knotted rugs. At the same time, they are significantly less complex to produce and can usually be used on both sides (front and back). Their patterns are generally geometric, which is due to the weaving technique.
