This Texura Spectra Design carpet made of pure and felted natural wool is artfully woven by hand so that it fills the room very pleasantly with a very fine play of colors. Since it is a hand-woven, not knotted, carpet, it does not have a classic pile. Nevertheless, this beautiful Spectra design carpet from our modern Texura series has a considerable height of 22 mm, which makes it an extremely cozy, homely piece of jewelry in the interior.

Kilim

These Kilim rugs have one key difference compared with hand-knotted rugs - they are hand-woven. As a result, they do not have a raised wool pile and are often flatter and rougher than knotted wool rugs. Their construction is less intricate, which means they are generally much more affordable. Another advantage is that Kilim rugs are much lighter and can be used on both sides. Hand-woven Kilims originally come from former Persia and are now also widely made in Afghanistan. They tend to feature simple, linear patterns shaped by their weaving technique.

Natural sheep wool

Wool is a natural material with important benefits for everyday use. It is extremely hard-wearing and easily withstands daily wear and tear. With the right care, it can also last for many decades without showing signs of ageing. Natural wool is also dirt-repellent thanks to its natural lanolin content, which helps protect it from external elements such as moisture. Wool is breathable and therefore ideally suited to underfloor heating. It also helps regulate humidity in the room to a certain extent and provides both sound and heat insulation.

Handwoven

This rug has been handwoven on a loom as a flatweave. Flatweave refers to rugs that have no pile. As the name suggests, these rugs are woven rather than knotted. This results in a flat rug with a textured surface. Flatweaves are not as soft and are usually thinner than knotted rugs. At the same time, they are significantly less complex to produce and can usually be used on both sides (front and back). Their patterns are generally geometric, which is due to the weaving technique.

Care & Fair
