This Lunara design rug made of fine bamboo silk/wool and/viscose combines craftsmanship and elegance. This hand-knotted rug has a soft texture and subtle sheen that will transform your space into an oasis of calm and sophistication.

Designer Rug

Modern designer rugs combine the traditional hand-knotting technique with contemporary design. The design still draws on the typical ornaments of the Orient, but these are presented in a simpler, more pared-back way. The result is hand-knotted rugs of outstanding quality in a timeless modern style.

Wool and viscose

Wool is a natural material with many practical benefits for everyday use. It is extremely hard-wearing and easily withstands daily wear and tear. With proper care, it can also last for many decades without showing signs of ageing. Natural wool is also dirt-repellent thanks to its natural lanolin content, which helps protect it from external elements such as moisture. This rug is also made with high-quality viscose, a handcrafted textile fibre based on natural materials. These include, for example, cotton and cellulose.

(80% Natural Wool, 20% Viscose)

Hand-knotted

Traditionally hand-knotted rugs still represent the highest quality standard among all types of rug. Depending on the knotting technique, these rugs are extremely hard-wearing and can last for generations. The finer and denser a rug is knotted, the more detailed the ornaments and patterns that can be shown in the pile. At the same time, a very fine oriental rug requires significantly more manual work, as well as a higher level of experience and skill from the weaver. Knot density is therefore also a key factor in the value of hand-knotted rugs. However, quality is not directly linked to knot density. A more coarsely knotted rug can still be made to an excellent standard.

Care & Fair

Following our ethical principles, we at Nain Trading are declared supporters of the organization CARE & FAIR. The goal is joint action by carpet dealers worldwide to give children from carpet weaver families in India and Pakistan the foundation for socially protected growing up. This improves the situation for the whole family in the long term. A child-friendly childhood for a life worth living - that is the mission.
